Car Care Tips

BRAKES, WHEELS, AND TIRES

Tire Pressure: Always make sure your tires are at the recommended tire inflation. Not only will this help you save gas, but it will also extend the life of the tire. So, check it at least once a month. It's best to check them when the tires are cold.

Uneven Wear: If you check your tire pressure regularly, uneven wear may indicate that your vehicle is in need of an alignment or other types of service such as brakes, tire rods, bushings, or some other internal factor.

Tread: Periodically, check your tire tread to ensure that they are not worn. The proper length of tread is needed to ensure safety, especially when driving in hazardous conditions.

Tire Rotation: About every other oil change (which should be done about every 3,000) miles, tires should be rotated. This will ensure a more even wear on your tires, which will extend the life of your tires.

Brake Fluid: Check your brake fluid monthly and make sure it is at the correct level.

Brake Replacement: Check your owner's manual for recommended brake changes. Not replacing the brakes when needed may scratch the rotors, which can be costly.

ENGINE AND OTHER SYSTEMS

Oil change: Engine oil and filter should be changed about once every 3,000 miles or three months. Timely oil changes will remove dirt and any other particles which will ensure more engine life.

Engine Oil: It is recommended to check your engine oil frequently. Perhaps every time the gas is filled. The correct amount of fluid is needed to keep the engine running smoothly.

Transmission Oil: Transmission oil and filter changes is suggested every 25, 000 miles, two years, or as recommended in the owner's manual

Spark Plugs: Refer to your owner' s manual to see when spark plugs should be replaced. This will maintain the life of the engine and help it to run smoothly.

BATTERY

Inspect your batteries to ensure they are free from cracks, corrosion, or any other type of abnormality.

FLUIDS

At least once a month, take the time to check all fluids including the coolant, oil, transmission, brake, and power steering fluid. The proper levels will ensure a healthier car.
